The Ulster Aviation Society, a diverse band of retired gentlemen, preserve and restore aircraft inside their gusty hangar situated on the former Maze site on the periphery of Belfast.
Commissioned by Getty Images I recorded these men whose affection and bonds were not limited to the aircraft upon which they worked and their endeavor to recreate the Harry Ferguson monoplane, the first ever aircraft to be flown and built in Ireland in 1909.
